On our recent visit to Sardinia, we were lucky enough to stay in the beautiful Porto Cervo area, north of the island. Our time there was filled with sunny days over breathtaking views, and of course, time on the courts.
We played tennis at one of our favorite spots on the island, Hotel Cala di Volpe. The views of the famous “cala”, where yacht tenders drop off their guests, are truly something special. The hotel has partnered with our friends at the Mouratoglou Academy to offer a unique tennis experience. This location is the first Italian Mouratoglou Tennis Center, and the fourth in the world.
At Hotel Cala di Volpe, the Mouratoglou Tennis Center offers something for everyone: customized programs, individual and group lessons, and sessions designed for kids and families on vacation. Every coach is trained in the Mouratoglou method and speaks multiple languages, catering to guests from all over the world.
The hotel offers four tennis courts and two padel courts, perfect for getting in a few sets under the Sardinian sun. We spent two hours on the courts with a coach from the Mouratoglou Tennis Center, fine-tuning our game with the backdrop of the Mediterranean.
We relaxed with an aperitivo at Hotel Cala Di Volpe and enjoyed the sunset after tennis. Dinner that evening was a sushi treat at Matsuhisa, Chef Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa’s restaurant, also located in the hotel. The next morning, we took a boat out to Mortorio Island for a dip in the sea, just a 15-minute tender ride from Hotel Cala Di Volpe.
This Italian tennis destination is one of those places that just stays with you. Hotel Cala Di Volpe’s blend of world-class tennis and hospitality in the stunning island of Sardinia is a summer must-go.
